Historic Milestone Restoration

On a rainy night in October 2016, 200+ year old historic road milestone was shattered and nearly destroyed due to a driver losing control of his vehicle and swerving off the road.  Milestones were placed along many old roads radiating from Philadelphia in the late 1700s and early 1800s.  Locations and distances were marked and utilized to calculate tolls to be collected by the turnpike companies.  Solace A+C facilitated the insurance claim and coordinated the monument restoration services.  The stone was reinstalled in May 2017 so that it may be appreciated for another 200 years.  The text abbreviations translate as "To Philadelphia 26 Miles, To Spring House 9 Miles."

In collaboration with Roth Cemetery Services.
